Ninja

One of the two main tanks in the game, Ninja's primary goal is to maintain hate while not getting hit. As you progress in levels, the higher and higher you get it becomes apparent that the ability to have control in a party becomes harder and harder (but never impossible). When you reach 70+ you will have difficult time keeping the monster on you at all times. However, at this point as long as you keep it on you at the initial portion of the monster's HP it will die fast enough before it starts severely hurting the damage dealers. A thief is a good addition to help support a Ninja's Enimity, and any 2hander with thief sub can trick attack just as well.

It is possible to gear Ninja up to be a damage dealer, but unfortunately the damage is subpar compared to other damage dealers. The Ninja job loves haste, and more haste the better. Shortening recast is very important to utsusemi recast. As far as subjobs go the only one you need to be concerned about is Warrior. Warrior of course gives you Provoke and Berserk (not to mention double attack) which all help tremendously with hate. For those interested in a very potent solo combination sub Dancer with Ninja. Both Monk and Ninja take the Dancer sub to the full benefit.

I enjoy to play Ninja time to time, it is a comfortable job to play and I find doing everything I can to maintain hate from top damage dealers a form of mini-game. When I was about mid level I started macroing a bunch of things from anywhere like Full Enimity set just for provoke and Berserk and Magic attack bonus, and Int for Elemental wheel. but once I hit 75 I found that macroing all that for every little thing was slowing me down, causing me to lose enimity where I do much better just using the 3 primary debuff tools and attack.
